Downtown Visitor Trends – June 2026

June brought increased activity to Downtown Asheville, with approximately 1.2 million non-resident visits, representing a 7% increase compared to June 2025. Visits were only down 1% compared to June 2023, showing that Downtown activity has remained resilient and continues to approach pre-recovery visitation levels.

The month’s highest visitation occurred on Saturday, June 13, when Downtown recorded approximately 70,400 non-resident visits. The day featured a variety of events and activities throughout Downtown, including graduations, community programming, live music performances, and theater productions Pack Square Park was the most visited location in Downtown during June, followed by Harrah's Cherokee Center. This demonstrates the role that special events and community programming play in driving Downtown activity.

Saturdays remained the busiest day of the week, as is normal, with peak activity from 1–7 PM, showing that visitation was popular outside evening hours.

These insights, gathered through the Asheville Downtown Improvement District, help guide planning, support local businesses, and inform strategies to maintain a vibrant and active Downtown year-round.
