Downtown Visitor Trends – July 2025

Downtown Asheville saw a slight increase in out-of-market visitation in July, rising to 550,700, up from 532,700 in June. Despite this month-over-month growth, year-over-year visits were down 10.7%, suggesting that while seasonal activity remains strong, recovery from 2024 disruptions continues to be uneven.

Visitor activity showed two distinct peaks: a steady afternoon surge from 1 PM to 4 PM, and a strong evening peak at 7 PM. Saturdays drew the most traffic, followed by Fridays, continuing the trend of strong weekend tourism.

As always, we’ll keep an eye on these trends to help shape programming, support local businesses, and keep downtown moving in the right direction.
