Downtown Visitor Trends – June 2025
Foot traffic in downtown Asheville followed a steady rhythm throughout May, with Fridays and Saturdays drawing the biggest crowds. The busiest hours fell between noon and 4 p.m., when most shops, restaurants, and activities are in full swing.
Compared to last May, out-of-market visits were down 16.4%, likely a lingering effect of Hurricane Helene. The storm’s impact last fall is still being felt in a variety of ways, from tourism to daily routines.
Even so, weekends stayed active, and downtown continued to attract visitors from nearby towns and cities — a positive sign as we head into the summer season.
