Join us for a day of patriotic celebration at the Independence Day Block Party in the South Slope!
The Asheville Downtown Association invites the community to celebrate Independence Day in the heart of Downtown Asheville during the Independence Day Block Party, presented by Ingles, on Saturday, July 4, in the South Slope. Produced by the Asheville Downtown Association in partnership with the City of Asheville, the free, family-friendly celebration will feature live music, interactive entertainment, local businesses, food and beverage vendors, and one of the region's premier fireworks displays.
The Asheville Downtown July 4 Celebration remains a Downtown tradition, with this year's festivities expanding into the vibrant South Slope neighborhood. Visitors are encouraged to spend the day exploring local breweries, restaurants, shops, and businesses, many of which will offer special activations throughout the day.
Entertainment begins at 12:00 p.m. with live music throughout the district before the excitement continues with:
12:00 p.m. – Live music begins throughout the South Slope
3:00 p.m. – Ultimate Air Dogs demonstrations on Buxton Avenue
5:00 p.m. – Car Show on South Coxe Avenue
7:00 p.m. – Headliner Empire Strikes Brass on the Asheville Yards Stage
9:30 p.m. – Fireworks spectacular
In addition to entertainment, guests can enjoy food vendors, local makers, family-friendly activities, and outdoor gathering spaces while exploring the South Slope's renowned breweries, restaurants, galleries, and shops. Downtown businesses throughout the district will be open and activated all day, offering visitors even more opportunities to celebrate while supporting the local economy.
The event is free and open to the public.

Want to help make one of Asheville's favorite summer traditions a success? Volunteers receive an Asheville Downtown hat, two drink tickets, and an invitation to our Volunteer Appreciation Night. Community groups that recruit 20 volunteers (ages 21+) throughout the day are eligible for a $1,000 donation to support their organization.
