Candidate Cafe - Shaping the Future of Downtown

  • Battery Park Hall 46 Haywood Street Asheville, NC, 28801 United States (map)

Join the Asheville Downtown Association for a City Council Candidate Forum designed to encourage meaningful, face-to-face conversation between candidates and the Downtown community.

The evening will begin with brief, one-minute introductions from each declared City Council candidate, offering attendees a snapshot of their background and priorities. Following the introductions, candidates will be seated at round tables with small groups of Downtown stakeholders.

Attendees will rotate tables every 20 minutes, creating two opportunities to engage directly with candidates in a small-group setting. To support thoughtful discussion, candidates will be provided with suggested topics focused primarily on Downtown issues, while leaving room for organic conversation.

This format allows attendees to hear from all candidates while also spending time in deeper discussion with those whose perspectives and priorities most interest them. The Asheville Downtown Association does not endorse candidates; this event is intended as a nonpartisan opportunity for learning, dialogue, and civic engagement.

Registration is currently open to Asheville Downtown Association members. If space allows, registration will open to the public five days prior to the event.
