Our dedicated team of Community Ambassadors maintains a visible presence fourteen hours daily, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming downtown environment. Community members can also submit service requests at any time. Using the innovative Jia platform, we efficiently manage service requests and track operations, providing transparent reporting to our community.

Our diverse Board of Directors represents local businesses, residents, and key community groups. Voting members will include commercial property owners, business renters, residential property owners and renters, along with representatives from The Block, the Continuum of Care, and at-large members. The committee will also ensure representation from key industries such as food and beverage, entertainment, hospitality, office, and retail, as well as geographic diversity from Downtown Asheville.

At the Asheville Downtown Improvement District (ADID), we are committed to transparency and accountability in all aspects of our work. As we continue to grow and establish the ADID, we believe it is important for our stakeholders to have access to key information about our operations and initiatives. To ensure openness, we provide quarterly reports, board meeting minutes, and annual reports in the section below. These documents are available to the public, allowing our community members to stay informed and engaged with the ongoing work that shapes the future of Downtown Asheville.
Our Team
Board of Directors
The Asheville Downtown Improvement District (ADID) Board of Directors was created through a public application and outreach process designed to reflect the diversity of people, places, and industries that shape Downtown. Following guidelines established by Asheville City Council in Resolution 24-119, the board includes commercial property owners, business renters, residential owners and renters, as well as representatives from The Block and the Continuum of Care.
Members were selected to represent all four geographic quadrants of the district and a range of industries including hospitality, food and beverage, entertainment, retail, and office. Outreach efforts included direct mail to all Downtown addresses, press coverage, in-person presentations, and distribution through community and business organizations.
This board serves as the official steering committee for the Downtown Improvement District, helping to guide its launch and ensure its services — including clean, green, and ambassador programs — reflect the needs and priorities of the entire community.
