Asheville Downtown Association honors volunteers, supporters at appreciation party

Asheville, NC – January 19, 2017: Asheville Downtown Association hosted roughly 200 of the nonprofit’s volunteers, sponsors, board members and other supporters at a carnival-themed party at Hi-Wire Brewing’s Big Top in Biltmore Village on Saturday, Jan. 14. The group gathered to celebrate the completion of ADA’s 2016 event season, which featured Easter on the Green, the Downtown After 5 concert series, Steep Canyon Rangers (an addition to the regular season in collaboration with Oskar Blues), the Ingles Independence Day Celebration, Oktoberfest and  the Asheville Holiday Parade.

Roughly 315  volunteers staffed ADA’s 2016 events, racking up more than 1,000 shifts in roles like beer and wine service, water and soda sales, festival greening, backstage security, merchandise sales, setup, breakdown and guest check in. ADA is currently recruiting new volunteers for its 2017 season. Individuals, nonprofit groups and corporate groups are all welcome. Interested parties please email us.

ADA thanks Forge Mountain Photography for capturing highlights of the 2016 appreciation party. Thanks also go to event partners Hi-Wire Brewing, Wild Wing Cafe, Diamond Brand Outdoors, Asheville Inflatable & Party Rental and all donors to our volunteer raffle.
