At the forefront of Asheville, North Carolina’s emerging global reputation as a center of excellence for the climate science industry is The Collider, a not-for-profit initiative to develop high-tech products, services, solutions and educational programming related to global climate change.
The focus of The Collider is to bring business and science together to facilitate the innovation and rapid commercialization of high-tech ventures that create solutions for climate change adaptation and resiliency.
The Collider offers access to professional resources and expertise, as well as providing opportunities for potential markets. It is also building an international network of public, private, academic, and nonprofit members that will offer additional opportunities for connecting, collaborating, and innovating.
COLLIDE – CONNECT – COLLABORATE – CREATE
The Collider is in Callen Center, located on the newly renovated, 26,000-sq.-ft top floor of the Wells Fargo building in downtown Asheville. The Collider offers co-working, office, meeting and event space — fully equipped with world class connectivity — for businesses, scientists and innovators addressing climate change solutions.
The facility is just steps away from the headquarters of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI, formerly known as the National Climatic Data Center, or NCDC), the world’s largest repository of climate and environmental data.
The Collider and The Callen Center share the mission to provide an immersive learning and working environment specifically for the climate and environmental data services industry. Together they offer engagement platforms ranging from a large, programmed event and workshop venue, a networking lounge, break room, meeting rooms, monthly co-working desks and small offices, and full service, private secured offices of varying sizes, all supported by the tools and services that support collaboration and business success.
“There is nowhere else in the world like The Collider. It’s not just an office; it’s a concept. It’s an incredibly exciting opportunity for Acclimatise to locate our North America office here.” — John Firth, CEO & Co-Founder, Acclimatise Consulting London, with clients in 60+ countries worldwide
