The Asheville Downtown Association will host its annual State of Downtown Update virtually this year. The event, presented by First Bank with support from Ward and Smith, P.A., is Tuesday, February 23 beginning at noon. The update will include a review of 2020 initiatives, as well as priority areas and programs for 2021,

2021 ADA Board President Tommy Dennison and Executive Director Meghan Rogers will discuss the association’s program of work for the upcoming year as well as the membership’s top priorities and challenges facing downtown merchants and residents.

The State of Downtown will also feature downtown-related updates and initiatives from City of Asheville Mayor Esther Manheimer and Buncombe County Commission Chair Brownie Newman.

“Even more so this year, it’s important to reflect on the prior year and the pandemic’s impact on downtown. Other issues continue as well, including affordability, parking and transit, cleanliness and safety, and we must work together to make positive change happen,” said ADA Executive Director Meghan Rogers.

Because this event occurs over the lunch hour, we encourage attendees to get takeout or delivery from their favorite downtown restaurant. Click here for a list of options or visit foodinasheville.com
