Dining & Drinking

Visitors to Asheville must adhere to all Covid-19 parameters set forth by the State of North Carolina and Buncombe County. Visitors must wear a mask/face covering when visiting shops, restaurants and businesses. Please understand that downtown businesses are doing everything they can to keep you and their employees safe during this time, and respect their rules and guidelines.

Downtown Asheville boasts nearly 100 restaurants, cafes and coffee shops, many locally owned. Restaurants offer more than a meal. They craft experiences. And it’s no secret. Several downtown chefs have been nominated for the prestigious James Beard Awards including Katie Button of Curate, John Fleer of Rhubarb, Meherwan Irani of Chai Pani, Jacob Sessoms of Cultura and Table, and Ashleigh Shanti of Benne on Eagle.

And once you’ve enjoyed your meal, you’ll find exquisite desserts, sinful sweets and hand-crafted chocolates to cap off a perfect evening.

Asheville may be known as Beer City (and with good reason), but did you know downtown also features lots of spots for craft cocktails, locally roasted coffees, hand-selected teas, and other unique beverage experiences.
