We are pleased to announce that the Asheville Downtown Association is now accepting applications for our Wristband Charities program, as a part of the Downtown After 5 summer concert series. The charitable organization works the wristband sales tents at the event and splits the sales (receiving up to a maximum of $2000) with the Asheville Downtown Association. The ADA will select 5 nonprofit organizations as the charity, one for each Downtown After 5 (held 3rd Fridays, May-September).
Please download the Wristband Charity Application that must be completed by March 1st in order to be considered for the 2013 season. Please also note the following:
- Deadline for submissions is Friday March 1.
- Applying organizations must have a Sponsoring ADA Board Member who acts as their liaison
- The applying organization must have at least 26 individuals, over 18, available to work in two shifts (16 – 1st shift, 10 – 2nd shift). These shifts run from 4:45-7:00 and 7:00-9:15.
- The group will split the wristband revenues with the ADA (50/50) up to a maximum of $2,000
Organizations are not required to be members of the Asheville Downtown Association to apply to become a wristband charity, however, we encourage local nonprofits to join to receive additional benefits for your organization. For a $50 nonprofit membership, we can provide additional marketing for events and promotions through social media, member profiles, discounts, and event listings on our new website, and weekly newsletter (1000+ recipients). We are also the Voice of Downtown, providing an outlet to address issues relating to downtown, including public events, public safety, cleanup and infrastructure, and the overall improvement of Downtown Asheville.
