Free trolley service through Gray Line Trolley (the red trolley) will be available from downtown Asheville to the RiverMusic series in the River Arts District this summer.
“RiverMusic is going to be the best ever this year. We have always said that the river and downtown are wonderful partners, and provide so many exciting options for our citizens and visitors. Yes, Asheville has something for everyone, and the pie just keeps getting bigger,” noted Karen Cragnolin, executive director of RiverLink.

The City of Asheville Mayor’s Committee on Veterans Affairs will host the annual Memorial Day ceremony on the Roger McGuire Green of Pack Square Park at 3 p.m. on May 27, 2013.
The Dowtown After 5 fun doesn’t end when the music stops. After May’s event Asheville On Bikes will host “Bright Light Biker,” a moonlight ride through downtown. Participants are encouraged to “light up” both their bikes and themselves and prizes will be awarded for best decoration and best costume. Plus, it’s the perfect way to wrap up Strive Not to Drive Week.
May 17 - Big Sam's Funky Nation with Empire Strikes Brass
Big Sam’s Funky Nation is a driving force of urban funk straight out of New Orleans. Between the band’s solos and Big Sam’s signature dance moves and trombone rifts, the energy level is sky high. This stellar group of world-class musicians masterfully combines a rock sensibility with improv-style jazz and a horn-heavy sound. Big Sam has shared the stage with Widespread Panic, Elvis Costello, U2 and Green Day. bigsamsfunkynation.com
